Most common rejection reasons
- 1Two photos that are not identicalEvery application needs 2 identical, unaltered photos, so print both from the same file.
- 2A home-printed photoPhotos printed at home or on heavyweight paper are not accepted; the photo must be professionally printed on plain, high-quality photographic paper.
- 3A photo altered with softwareIRCC rejects the application if the photos have been altered in any way, including with editing software, filters or AI tools.
- 4Clothing that blends into the backgroundLight-coloured clothing can blend into the backdrop and may get the photo rejected. Wear something that stands out.

- Who takes the photoOfficially, a commercial photographer takes it
IRCC requires a photo taken in person by a commercial photographer or photo studio. Online renewals ask for the studio's name, address and the date taken. A Snap2Pass photo has no studio to name and its background is replaced, so we cannot promise it will be accepted. If it is refused, we refund you in full.
