The UKVI visa photo uses the same 35 x 45 mm format as the UK passport, with the head 29–34 mm from chin to crown. The big workflow difference: you upload a digital photo with your application but a new photo is taken at your biometric appointment at the visa application centre — the photo you submit is only used during initial processing.

What's different from the UK passport
