From 1 July 2026 the MyVISA portal validates every photo uploaded for eVISA applications in the Visa with Reference (VDR) category. The background must be plain and uniform, with no gradients, patterns, textures or objects, and no shadows or reflections. A photo that fails is referred to the VDR issuing office.
