Most home-taken photos fail for one of two avoidable reasons:
- Standing too close to the wall — head shadow on the background reads as non-uniform. Stand 3–5 feet from the wall.
- Overhead-only lighting — creates shadows under the eyes, nose, and chin. Face a window instead so light hits your face from the front.
Selfie distortion
